Silk was born Fredericton located in New Brunswick Canada. She is the daughter of Peter Silk, who was a professor at the University of New Brunswick, as well as Ilkay who was a playwright as well as director, who also became famous as an actress. Anna is able to recall the first moments she experienced when she was a kid, such as seeing her mother work during play rehearsals. Silk was featured in a variety of commercials when she was a young child. In 1997, she received an associate's degree from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas staged two plays in the early years: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto in order to perform and advance in November, 1999. After a decade saw her move to Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman is her future partner, whom she discovered during her time in Los Angeles at an Actors' workshop, in 2007. The couple was legally married in December of 2009. Following her conversion to Judaism, they renewed their wedding vows at an Jewish ceremony on the 10th of April 2011.
