The 21st of March, 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman will as the Doctor's companion along with Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat chose to put her in the role because she has the most chemistry Smith. She also spoke more quickly than he does. Eva has played a variety of roles on television, but two stand out in particular: Dr. Maria Santos' role in All My Children as well as the character of Detective Natalia Boavistas' in CSI Miami. The latter even garnered her two nominations for the Daytime Emmy Awards as well as gave her the chance to experiment with her talents in music. Eva is not only an actress, she is as well a philanthropist and businesswoman. She has been married three times, and has a daughter who is along with her husband.
