Ali MacGraw
Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American author and designer who has won numerous awards for her work. She has been a vocal advocate for the rights of animals. Her movies comprise Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) as well as The Getaway ( 1972). She was raised by an artist family in New York and wanted to pursue a career in artistic fields. At first she began as an photographer's assistant. Later on her work changed to modeling and directing. The first two films she appeared in she received recognition and was awarded the Golden Globe Award as Most Popular Young Actress. MacGraw became an international star after her 1970 movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as an award from the Golden Globe. Within three years, she had been voted as the top female box office participant in the entire world. The handprints of her signature, as well as footprints were immortalized in 1972 by Grauman's Chinese Theater. She has starred in several other movies, including The Getaway Convoy Players and television miniseries The Winds of War among others. Her autobiography, published in 1991 Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw was married three times.
